This prototype saves usernames, password hashes, used words, and records in this browser. A real public deployment should use a backend database and secure authentication.
Your goal is to guess the hidden five-letter word as fast as possible and in the fewest number of tries. There is no six-try limit. You can keep guessing until you solve the word or press Give Up.
Speed matters, but accuracy matters too. The best players appear on the leaderboards by finishing quickly and using fewer guesses.
Each answer is remembered in this browser so the next round avoids repeating it until the answer pool is exhausted.
Example: hidden word is BEGIN. Guess is BITER.
B is yellow because it is exactly correct. I and E are dark purple because they are in BEGIN but in different positions. T and R are red because they are not in BEGIN.
Unlimited guesses. Fastest time and least tries are recorded.
No API key is needed. The website contains an embedded online English word list inside the code and checks your guess instantly in the browser.
